The ankle progresses from Step 4 to … 5.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

To explain the confusing poetic title regarding this brief entry, I describe the assembling of the R2D2 ankle. Does this help explain the title? I am sure it doesn’t.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Here is one of the two ankles<\/em> in its glory as it rests upside down in the glow of the late morning sun. Now, I can add the accessory dressings mentioned in Step 5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reading Step 5, you will see that this step fixes the previously adored five-piece tube onto the ankle’s box to suggest some sophisticated function and mechanical design. Additionally, Pieces 96 and 95 bookend the tube providing the needed support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course this step instructed us to attach the tube assembly with two pieces to the ankle, but upon closer scrutiny (among the other scrutinies) Piece 96 competes with the freaking awesome<\/em> tube on the ridiculous scale. If you recall, the tube had some outrageously small box constructions that required hands smaller than a newborn to fold and assemble. But seriously, Piece 96’s efforts will need a photo finish to determine which of the two really can claim that prize.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pencil partner that acts as a tool for curling the card stock but more importantly supplying a visual aid for scale to demonstrate reality.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Like many previous pieces, Piece 96 is damn small. Damn. Small. I may need to invest in a macro lens for future photographing of this project if this and a few previous pieces presage for the remaining steps. Look at those tabs–those little flaps. The pencil’s graphite is wider than those tabs! Glue application has now embarked toward practicing meditative breathing. Professional paper modelers<\/a> are surely mocking my remark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a quick evaluation of the piece and me, I stopped and did not practice the patience. I saved the challenge for another day. In other words, forget this right now I do not have the patience.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
